The significance of institutional credit in helping the country's economy has been obvious to the Government of India right from its beginning phases of arranging. In this manner, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) at the demand of the Government of India, comprised a Committee to Review the Arrangements For Institutional Credit for Agriculture and Rural Development (CRAFICARD) to investigate these exceptionally basic viewpoints. The Committee was shaped on 30 March 1979, under the Chairmanship of Shri B. Sivaraman, a previous individual from the Planning Commission, Government of India.
